And the only thing that I remember
Is a summer like a pretty girl
Who shimmers and shines
Moving in time
Shaking to the beat of the heart of the world.

Summer, proper summer, is here; and the kids are fizzing with it.

Very soon I will be able to spend a lot more time with them, but before that I have a solid seven more days of merde to wade through at work.

Today's the 69th anniversary of the Normandy landings, D-Day. Thinking back to what those people did for us makes hassles at my job seem totally trivial, and makes the sight of kids freely skipping in the summer sun just a bit more special. Things could be very different.
