Knock, and it will be opened to you

“Don't feel sorry for yourself if you have chosen the wrong road, turn around.”
Edgar Cayce
Left in good time to show K1 around Bishop’s Castle – enough time for her to buy something in one of the charity shops - before our cross-country journey, about 45 minutes, to Shrewsbury to meet up with E to take her for lunch at The Corbet Arms at Uffington. Managed to get there on time without missing the turning and spending twenty minutes on the Motorway, which would really have screwed up our timing today. The welcome and lunch was good, as last time (last year) and we spent a good couple of hours enjoying our meal and each other’s company before heading back to E’s place for tea and more chat.
Headed straight back to base and met a ginormous tractor near the top of single-track Kerry Lane out of Bishop’s Castle. Fortunately he reversed about 30 yards to a pull in to let me through. Just as well because soon after we met another one on the wider stretch of track across the top. Don’t think I’ll get used to navigating these lanes in a hurry. Fortunately the locals seem to compensate for us townies and give us a wide berth.
