Scribbling

This is the health and fitness magazine section in Borders, Muscat.

The human body is rarely seen uncovered out here and to protect people from the mortal sin of witnessing bare flesh, there exists a job where the main purpose is to scribble out cleavages with a big black pen. I'm unsure as to who exactly is gifted this task, but I like to think it is an Omani with a bit of wasta.

Despite not having seen any censorship of this type for a while, it still amuses me somewhat, especially the thinking behind what on earth made the magazine on the left exempt from the censor.
