Osprey

I realise you need a magnifying glass to see it even after I have cropped it. So let us just call it a photograph of record.

I blip it because it is a good news story. We have Ospreys already in South Lakeland. The ones at Foulshaw just across the Kent estuary have successfully bred for several years. But until recently we just had visiting birds at our major RSPB reserve at Leighton Moss.
Now it looks as though this one has adopted us and hopefully will make its home here soon.
It was here last year, has been back to Africa and chosen to return. Now we must hope that it will build a nest next year.

On the ground below it is a Magpie collecting fish crumbs which fall from the tree.
