Rothwell Temperance Band

I spent a large part of my life playing for this brass band, before I stepped away and retired back in 2016.  Today, they were doing an event for Leeds 2023 celebrations which told the story of the band from their beginnings in 1881 through to the present day.  It was told with music from the band alongside an audio visual presentation featuring interviews with players and supporters from throughout the years.  Part of my interview made it into the presentation, around the time the Junior Band was formed, and a lot the pictures came from Sharon and I.

It was performed in a tent in some old woodland on a farm - certainly an odd place to hold it, but the conductor and Verity who put it together wanted it to happen away from the normal kind of venues that brass bands play in.  It's happening again soon in the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.

We had a great time watching the hour long event, and reminiscing about the achievements of the band that we were part of.
