TENT TO RENT

In the Oslo fiord close to Oslo (the fiord is not actually a fiord, but is 118 km long coastline) you will find the little island Steilene.

What you see on the photo is the art project "Tree small huts" made by the artist Solveig Egeland. The huts is in fact tents, and the pink one, called Rose hip, you can rent one night for 500 Norwegian Crones (68 Euro or 90 USD). The two others are free to enter, but not to sleep in.

The artist wanted to make the Rose hip
with so thin walls that you can hear and smell all the sounds of nature and the sea,
with a roof which is dry, and lets you wake up to raindrops dancing,
with wide windows to let the sun and the horizon in and create fare reaching thoughts,
with a doorstep, big enough to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee.

A cabin. Not great. More like a warm blanket on the body. A shielding coat against the wind and rain and the hot sun.

All you need. In order to know how good life is.

It's the last year it's for rent. I'm not sure why because it's very popular.
