Lac des Bouillouses

we travelled up to this man-made lake in the mountains today to stay for a night. Its one of the largest lakes in the Pyrenees and provides water for the plains where lots of fruit are grown as well as hydroelectric power to run the 'train jeune' through the mountains. We were hoping to do some night photography as its very dark here but despite 2 weeks of continuous clear skies we had our first cloudy night so few stars were visible. Prior to this we had some decent light before supper when these two photos were taken. There seem to be a lot of wild ponies grazing around the lake.
