A Bridge Not too Far

Probably every town in Scotland located near a river has a Bridgend. This is Crieff's Briegend which is the A822 coming in from Braco & Muthill. The River is of course the Earn. At both ends of the Bridge there are buildings which were clearly once shops - I've no idea how long ago but I like to try to imagine what it must have been like when there was a bit more activity than just cars shooting backwards & forwards. All the shops have become homes now. There's still commercial activity on the road out from the end of the Bridge where I'm standing - a Buchan pottery, Brogan fuels, a Christmas shop, Stuart crystal, the Visitor Centre which includes a Garden Centre .... come to think of it, there's quite a lot!!
But no Mill though there are addresses with Mill in the name so there will have been one for sure. We tend to forget how important rivers once were for work, transport & communication. Now they're picturesque blip opportunities :-)
