At Leonard’s

I visited a couple of churches for Heritage Open Days including St Leonard’s in Middleton. Such an interesting building and
I had a good chat with one of the volunteers who knew all about its history. The tower is the earliest part finished in 1412, the rest is largely 16th century after the earlier building had structural problems. You can see where they have used stones from the old church in the newer one and there are lovely brasses and stained glass with stories attached.
