The Color Purple

and blue, pink and white was the amazing display at the Lupine Festival, in Sugar Hill.
Breathtaking color with a backdrop of majestic mountains and billowing clouds.
Every country road had a showcase of lupines to admire!
We got up in the wee hours of the morning to catch the sunrise. Although we were laughing at the thought of driving in the dark to be there when the sun rose, we weren't alone. Arriving before sunrise, we were greeted by a group of photographers all waiting in a row, lined up for the big event! Everyone was quiet, just waiting. As the sun was about to appear, so were the clouds! Very quickly they took over the morning sky.
It really didn't matter, because the clouds made the colors pop even more.
I had a hard time trying to decide which photo to use for my daily blip. I took almost 600 pictures!
All in all, a wonderful day! (We also stopped for a great breakfast the pancake parlor!)
