Seen from our bedroom window!

Well I saw this Heron perched in one of the trees a few hundred yards behind our house. It perched there for three and a half hours and preened and preened it self. It did a thorough job of all its feathers more than once. I did begin to wonder if it's nest was there, but I don't think so. I had to set up cameras in Lochinver a few years ago to film them for the local community and was surprised at he size of the nests they build in the trees. The parents and chicks look really ungainly the way they try to keep their balance when standing in the nest. So blip for today, Preening Heron!
