Oban early evening as the nights draw in

I was in Oban this evening to  chair a hustings , as the selection process for the next Westminster election (whenever that will be) is taking place  in many constituencies at present.

The meeting was  a two hour event, with a Zoom link for others across the vast constituency, which is now even bigger as the last boundary review has added South Lochaber and Ardnamurchan to the Westminster seat (though not as yet to the Scottish Parliament one).

This makes for a huge area to be covered by a single MP .   Our of interest I calculated earlier in the day that it would take almost four hours to drive it north to south, and more than six going east/ west - and that timing would be reliant on ferry timetables too.

It was after 8.oopm and already dark  as I started on my own 75 mile journey home.

However   the  lights were on across the bay at the all the piers and the streets were still busy with visitors, which is almost a year round phenomenon now in the town.
