GREEN TREE ANTS

The picture on the right is part of a rugby ball size nest for green tree ants.
MrD and I saw several in the trees on our walks in Hamilton Island. The picture on the left shows one of the ants.
The nests are formed with leaves glued together by the ants excretions.
Green tree ants don’t have a sting but they do bite.
