Preserved "Deltic" Locomotive 9009 passes through the village of East Linton on the East Coast main line heading for London Kings cross on the return Elizabethan charter. These locos replaced the steam locos on the London to Edinburgh routes, then where replaced themselves in 1981 when the High Speed Trains(HST) 125 had then taken over the duties. They have two, 2 stroke napier engines each with 18 cyclinders producing a combined horse power of 3300hp, when built they where the most powerful diesel locomotives in the world.
