Under the birch tree

I have no idea what these fungi are but the only place they grow in our garden is in the patch of grass beside a fairly large silver birch that I planted many years ago.

These have just popped up in the last couple of weeks and I counted about 40 of them today - I have a feeling they must have something to do with the tree as no doubt it’s roots will be under the grass.
