Night out in Gion

Busy final day in Kyoto. Started with a flying visit to Osaka where I met fellow blipper, Esper (See my extra :-D). 

He was at an event in the city, volunteering for an organisation called TELL, a mental health hotline for people living in Japan. The festival was very lively and it was lovely meeting Esper, even briefly as I didn't want to distract him from his duties for too long!

On my return to Kyoto I spent the rest of my evening wandering the Gion area (famous for its Geishas) taking photos and just enjoying the atmosphere. It's been wonderful in Kyoto and a real highlight of the trip so far, but I'm looking forward to having a proper explore of Tokyo beyond Akihabara next week!
