Coombe Hill Monument

So tonight was the first summer season meet for my camera club summer season. I (Chris) had been watching the weather from the office all day hoping the cloud and drizzle would clear, thankfully it did!

We try to pick some reasonably local locations and Coombe Hill near Wendover is a good example. This monument was erected to recognise men from Buckinghamshire who died during the Second Boer War and takes a prominent position on the hill top. It has had quite a history (see here). Whilst it has featured in the distance in a previous blip, I've never taken the chance to catch it looking quite as dramatic (or close-up) as this.

We had a good evening, a couple of other shots from tonight are in the folio here and here.
