The Life and Times of ...

A tale of 3 telly's

Evening all,

Once upon a time a man (me!) Owned a fine television set, never a problem, worked immensely well till one day his electronically destructive eldest daughter (elder G) came to look after the dog. Apparently, the television was on and working when she entered the room. Was still working when she left.
During the course of her visit, all she did was mute the box as she was listening to a book on her phone. She has been known for hoovers, kettles, and irons to stop working upon touch !
In the morning after, the man (me!) switched on his TV set only to discover lines running across the screen, and the picture would vibrate to blur, then stop, clear , and start again.
But it's OK....... this astute man (me, obviously!) had a spare tv set in the cupboard for such emergencies. He did check over the broken set and queried what had happened but to no avail.... knackered.
On pulling out the spare tv set, looked OK, fixed the wall bracket from broken set to spare set, after much searching in stores shed for bolts that would fit spare set. Why on earth would we make these universal ...takes the fun out of bolt searching!! He then plugged the spare tv in only to find the screen shattered !!
This is where things get interesting. A tv set should be quite simple to buy.....no. its been discovered that stores that used to sell good cheap tv sets, no longer do. One keeps the empty boxes on the shelf, makes you wait 20mins as the assistant walks to back of the store to see if they actually have one.....the box being on the shelf does not mean they stock it.... and they don't. Offered me to choose another tv to find the same answer!!
Eventually, I bought a tv from a store that said on its little computer in store, they don't have the tv I selected, BUT I could go online and get it delivered. This I did .... but only to discover that I could go online and buy the tv and go back to the store to collect immediately!!!! Not available for delivery !!!

So....2 to scrap, one on wall....that was my day before coming on nightshift....for a break lol

Have a great evening
