Beinn Eighe

The forecast was a little bit better today, so once again we were up early, pack the tent away and head up the glen. We planned to climb the two Munro's on the Beinn Eighe massif. We climbed the steep northern slopes on the glen to the summit of Spidean Coire nan Clach. On the way up we can across a red dear just of the path who didn't seem to be that bothered by us, which is quite rare. Annoyingly the clouds rolled in as the reached summit and then clear as soon as we left it. We then traversed the rocky ridge across to Ruadh-stac Mòr, which you can see in the right on the photo. Once again the clouds rolled in as we reached the summit.

Had an interesting decent off the ridge down a rocky gully as the rain started to fall. Luckly is didn't last too long and we had a pleasant, but long walk out around the west edge of Beinn Eighe. Once back at the car we wolfed down a very late lunch (it was about 1630) before heading off south to Edinburgh. End of the holiday :-(
