Sunbeams

The manor and the church

The site is mentioned in the Domesday Book but it is thought the present manor house  dates  from the 16th C.  It is in our tiny village at the end of the no-through road.  Under the driveway is a medieval path made up of carefully laid uniform sized stones leading from the village up to the house and on to the church.  The church would have belonged to the dwelling but now is one of the parish churches in the benefice.

Such a lovely warm and sunny autumn day after the unsettled weather.  After lunch  I went for a walk across the farm enjoying being outside and looking at the signs of autumn around and about.
