Lamb Love

Two bleating lambs came to meet us as we walked past Vizinho's place on the way to market. Their mum had triplets, one died, and she had no milk, so these two have been bottle fed by Rodrigo's wife.
"Waste of money and time", he said, "but what can you do when your wife insists?"

Walked back into town this afternoon to the closing party for Stephanie's art exhibition, "Strange Strangers" - art by folk who have come to live in Mourão, whether foreign or Portuguese. She worked so hard to get the space ready, it looked superb, and some great art as well. (If you have me on WhatsApp, I've put some examples on my status.)

Gratefuls:
- finishing a great book, The Room on Rue Amélie, by Kristin Harmel, set in Paris during WWII; did make me think about the possibility of war spreading in Europe/the World again... so much I could say about the Middle East one atm, but requires nuance that not possible in few words, so, have added to the Ukraine one at my daily 9pm prayer alert, please, God, peace, and mercy on the children...
- the total beauty of this autumn day, Alentejo's second Spring, flowers everywhere, sunshine on fresh washed trees, asparagus emerging, lambs, perfect temperatures, and a full moon sailing in and out of clouds
- all the folk we've chatted to today, some of whom we'd not seen all summer: Ana Bravo, D Nazaré, David, the Spanish vet, and others

Enjoy your extra hour in bed!
