Above And Beyond...

St Mary's

Mid morning, fellow blipper SilverImages arrived at my house and we set off to a cafe in Ross on Wye (Herefordshire UK) for a cooked breakfast to start the day.

Midday we arrived at St Mary's Church , Kempley, Gloucestershire, a fifteen minute drive away from breakfast. It's an early 12th church which has the oldest surving wood roof structure in the UK and the most complete and well preserved Romanesque paintings in Northern Europe! (see extra) So important a building it is now in the care of English Heritage!

After a visit to the arts and craft church in Kempley, we enjoyed a drink at The Little Green Hut roadside cafe in Much Marcle before I took Ken to Michaelchurch to see St Michael's Church (1150AD) near my house that I've blipped.

A lovely sunny day after yesterday's rain, and great company. More good company tonight as Mrs BB and I will be in our village pub, with neighbours and friends, to start the weekend.

Camera used in extra: Fujifilm X-H1 and 9mm Laowa F2.8
