Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

food art

Our last night tonight and I thought the food in the restaurant deserved some recognition. Of course because of that there were fewer works of art than usual!.
The displays of desserts is mouthwatering - so much choice and so many wonderful flavours. I love the local Turkish desserts like Baklava and Katafi. There used to be an Italian shop in Bruntsfield in the early 80s that stocked them home made and we learned to love them then.
The stuffed apples and pears feature at most meals and are delicious and there are always several carved pumpkins around, they put out Halloween ones to shame.
Today we had lots of plans but in the end just stayed put. I had booked a massage for just before dinner time to put me in good shape for going home.
This evening we had a brief get together for drinks after dinner with those who had been on our bus. I think there will be some lasting friendships as a result of this trip. We get back to the UK early evening tomorrow, all being well, the thermals are in the hand luggage!
