Caithness space and the 21st century

A very leisurely last day driving M'vanwee from Inverness north to the evening ferry. The weather was doing its best sunny holiday thing, mostly, and I took it slow.

I stopped in Golspie to walk on the beach (big mounds of seaweed from last week's storms were smelling 'sweet'). Time to relax with a coffee and do a bit of reading and sewing.

Then just trundled along the familiar A9, letting any followers past and popping into the River Bothy café for a final indulgence before parking up by the river in Thurso for more reading and sewing.

The expanding windfarms in the eerie space of the Flow Country have utterly changed the ancient scenery. I know we need green power but it's always a loss when wild spaces become industrialised.
