Kelpies and Liz

What an unexpected bonus with the weather! We had anticipated a dreary day but both the sky and the Kelpies came up trumps and we spent far longer than intended there - that might well have been because we also forced ourselves to have coffee and cake.

I know blipper JohnD, his lovely wife and their gorgeous spaniel are regular walkers here and I kept a good eye out but didn't spot them. Next time!

We were supposedly on a bit of a schedule but it all went to pot!  We took the long route to Blair Atholl via Crieff and Aberfeldy (thank you to blippers Tweedy and Camerman for suggesting this way in order to avoid the long delays on the A9 - a great call) and meandered through a classic Scottish autumn with burnished beeches and golden birch against a blue, blue sky. We popped in to watch the Caithness Glass makers at work; more colour :-)

So what if we were later than planned to the campsite and set up in the dark. It was worth it :-)
