To Epidorpio

The desert,,, the Cretan desert, what is a sweet and a glass of raki; and you can tell that the sweetend skin of a kind of pears was served with a spoonfull of thick yoghurt.

We had this 'epidorpio' (Greek for desert) at the taverna Chalaris in Meskla where we were welcomed by the owners Mrs Kassandra (what beautiful name she has!) and her man Mr. Manolis, who's blind now but has an excellent memory and he loves stories of the past and Cretan history... He and Sweetheart were great sparing partners in story telling! We sat there for two hours with them and Sweetheart is most pleased with our visit of us at theirs, wonderful day!

In the extra Sweetheart with Mr. Manolis and another of some sheep we spotted on our tour across the mountains from Meskla via Zourva up to Therisso and from there we passed from the Venizelos Farangi up to Chania again
