At home: sweet clover sunset x

A warm evening, the air filled with clover pollen. The clover is a beautiful flower. It's takes so many flowery forms. I say flower, but the clover is actually part of the bean family. Its blossom is actually a bunch of pea like blossoms called 'wings and keels'.

The clover is actually native to Europe and Asia, but is used as a worldwide pasture crop. The plant is edible to both man and animal, although rightly considered a survival or famine food for humans, since although its high in protein it is hard to digest.

When the flowers are young they are just bright and hold their heads up very high so that the bees can see them easily. Once the bees have gathered the pollen, the plant immediately changes, so that another bee simply doesn't waste its time. Bizarrely clover has been legally discouraged in lawn laying and the like, because it attracts bees and people in one space and one might get stung! Frankly I think we need less laws and more clover!
