Edinburgh

Off to Edinburgh in the bus to see the Student!

He was studying at the Kings campus in the morning. He tells us that him and the other 3 guys in his halls book a room in the science block to get their head down in the books as they found doing it in their rooms wasn’t working! They are all saying they didn’t realise how much work there would be.

Before we met him we walked to our favourite place The Milkman for a coffee and then we walked up to George Street and had a look at the market there and in some shops.

Cameron appeared at 2pm at our lunch spot, The Auld Hundred in Rose Street. It has a nice dining room upstairs from the pub bit. It was nice and cosy and would say that the food was good and nice staff.

Afterwards it was a walk to Prince's street gardens as I wanted us to go on the Big Wheel. It wasn’t busy thankfully , no queues. The guy on our gate was chatty. I asked him how high the wheel was and it is 53M high the highest travelling wheel in Europe. We had a chat and he told me that he helped build the London Eye when he was only 16! He should t have been allowed to work on it but he did.

The views from the wheel were fab. Over to the castle, down Princes street over the market and also over to the high chair planes which I don’t think will go on.

Next up was a visit to the new bit at the National Gallery. Very good and I liked the gift shop.

It was time for us to head for our bus so we said bye to Cameron and made our way to the bus. A quick journey home, a cuppa , some Netflix and then bed, quite tired!
