Hello Santa

Another duff photo, but it's the season for them! Today was the official inauguration of the Village de Noël -- the same decorations as last year, but with a different Santa as J-F has sadly left us to return to the frozen north (of France). It was a lovely day for it -- after yesterday's drizzle, today has been sunny and windless.

We trooped up to the village hall for the inevitable midday apero, but then returned home for a classic Sunday lunch of pintade aux choux, which had been simmering on the woodburner while we were out, served with sloppy, buttery mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce. It was delicious, and there's plenty left. Just as well, as the guineafowl cost me 18 euros.

Since then I've been pretty much chilling out, apart from starting the mountain of laundry and catching up with my Goodreads reviews.
