Dramatic Storm Clouds Gathering

With a snowstorm predicted for the South Island, on it's way up from Antarctica, and already making its way felt in the far South, GingerNan and I drove up to Evans Pass, to see what there was to see. There were so many clouds draped over the hills on the far side of Lyttelton Harbour that we found it hard to know what to photograph first!

Our NZ MetService is taking this storm really seriously. Have a look at the warnings over the top of their present forecast for New Zealand.

It was exhilarating, especially as I hadn't been anywhere at all for a fortnight, and revelled in being up there amongst the hills and wild weather. Woohoo! I hope you enjoy them too, plus the one here, which is looking down into Purau, the hills above Diamond Harbour, and up to the Monument, hidden in the swirling clouds.
