Back to the wood

Eventually the indoor autumn as we call it - when the vine leaves fall and keep falling day after day - comes to an end because Cathleen gets tired of it and strips away all the debris in one fell swoop .

That reveals the wood but next month it will get cut back even further , to three stems, and towards the end of the month after that the first buds will start appearing.

Over the next few weeks however we will hang a few Christmas baubles on it , some of the pile that have built up over the years.
