We’ve finally reached the Top Ten films on the AV Club’s Top 25 Holiday Movies of all time! • White Christmas from 1954 is an American musical directed by Michael Curtiz, starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, Vera-Ellen. Features songs of Irving Berlin. Originally Fred Astaire was to team up with Bing but after reading the script he opted out. Donald O’Connor was to replace him until he got sick. That’s when Danny Kaye was signed, and the rest is history! The song White Christmas actually made its debut much earlier in the 1942 film, Holiday Inn, winning an Oscar for Best Original Song • A busy day of Christmas music and card writing :) • Unfortunately Bing won’t get his wish this year, look at all that green!
