We prevaricated whether to do a physical Christmas Card this year or to go wholly electronic. Electronic is a lot cheaper though not necessarily carbon-friendly given the multiple copies that will end up on servers for millennia.

Receiving a physical card is still much more pleasurable, especially if it contains news of the year and not just a signature, and, after all, we are in the business of giving pleasure. 

Thus, we've compromised in True British style.  A physical card to those we feel will appreciate it, and for those we'll meet personally, and an electronic missive for those on the boardgames emailing list.
