Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Christingle

We were up sharp today, the girls saw their mum off to the hospital in car. I was glad I'd lent it to her, as the weather was foul, I'd have worried about her cycling all that way in the wind and rain and half light. At the weekend she is allowed to park at the hospital when on duty, at other times taking the car is not an option .
The girls and I headed up to church at York Place, we were able to park as town was quite quiet and arrived in good time. I met several friends there including the mother of a former pupil. Sadly he died as a child almost 25 years ago, we are both grandmothers now though and it was lovely to meet up with our respective grandchildren .
The service was lovely with over 150 children present and several hundred adults. They even had a real live Christingle as you can see .
Back home from there and we had bacon rolls for lunch. The girls watched the Grinch on TV, their faces were a picture.
After they had gone home we continued the TV session and watched the Sound of Music
Katy's continued boast is that she is word perfect on both script and lyrics.
I finally wrapped the last of our presents and the tree is disappearing under gifts for 10 people. They'll start arriving from just before 1pm onwards and we'll aim to eat between 2 and 2. 30.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas wherever you are and whoever you are with
