Magic piles of papers

These two piles of exams scripts are magic.

On the left are the papers still to be marked. The ones on the right have been marked. But it doesn't seem to matter how long I plough away at them (and I do, despite the sunshine trying to tempt me outside), the left hand pile never gets smaller, and the right hand pile never gets larger.
