Sally Mair - Loving life

Snowballs

Channelling blipper Nadinepierce here, I enjoyed a post prandial advocat after dinner. It was of course complete with a splash of lemon juice, lemonade and the obligatory maraschino cherry (or two because I like them)!
We've had Josie here today and she's been helping me to wrap presents for Eilidh's birthday tomorrow. She's going to be 10 and her young cousin adores her!
I drove wee sister into town today, allowing her a short break from her kitchen maid duties.
Much of the day was spent picking up supplies for tomorrow's big day - large balloons, twice the price now she's hit double figures!
We've been fortunate in that the weather has been much better here than in many parts of the country. Joyce's friend took over 12 hours to travel from Liverpool initially by train and then after several changes and cancellations and two failed attempts to get over the border, by minibus from Carlisle.
Having said that, just as we were ready for bed there was a sudden but thankfully very brief, loud flurry of hail beating a tattoo against the windows. Hope everyone is ok if you've had the worst of the weather.
