Surprise!

Last night I had a gig (with a new third ceilidh band) at Sandiways near Chester.  It was a terrible night to travel with heavy rain.  A lot of the roads around here were flooded or closed due to floods so care was needed.  I set off really early in case of delays.

The ceilidh was a surprise party for a lady's 70th birthday and the hall looked stunning.  There were balloons everywhere (extra is a big pillar of them) real roses down the tables and artificial candles that were amazingly realistic.

The lady lived near the hall so she was blindfolded and driven round and round then led into the hall (in darkness).  The blind fold was removed and lights switched on and everyone shouted "Surprise!" Luckily she was pleased!

We played background music while they chatted then did the ceilidh.  They had caterers in that did a beautiful meal which we were invited to join.

We all had a good time and afterwards we had cake to bring home and one of the rose plants too which was very kind of them.

It was a lovely evening and the rain had stopped for the drive home.  It took about an hour so it was 1.00 am when I got home.
