Sunrise

A fiery start to the shortest day of our winter ....

Sunrise

Shadows slipping through the gold

Pools of morning light

Colors dancing pale and clear

Peaceful awe invite

Warming rays pierce frosty earth

Shimmering silver-gray

The bird's first song trills soft and sweet

The silence to allay

Crimson red the tree-robed hills

Glow in the rising sun

While gently the breezes blow

To say that night is done

Rosy hues of brightest tint

Paint the cloud streaked skies

The world is washed of every stain

A quiet, red sunrise
