Kitchen Cabinets

Max and Ellen McCance joined us for lunch today along with their miniature poodle, ‘wee Billy.’ He is 12 years old and is always up for an adventure.

Ellen, who is American by birth wrote a ‘Thank you’ email full of praise for Pat’s culinary skills.

’The lunch was absolutely delicious (and fulfilled that part of me that is always longing for proper, authentic Mexican food here in deepest Scotland!’

Ellen also commented on the ‘display cabinets’ in our kitchen dining room, part of which are shown into today’s entry.

The ‘display cabinets’ are actually upcycled from Stirling District Council’s Weight and Measure Department which Pat converted into Offices and Studio for a firm of landscape architects some thirty years ago.

They were repainted and fitted with adjustable shelving. However, original labels describing the weight and measures equipment stored in the cabinets have been retained.

Of course, the cabinets now feature a large number of ‘rabbits’ which are used in Pat’s culinary work.

Max, who is also one of Scotland’s finest woodworkers has examined the octagonal antique table which was badly damaged in a recent accident and has agreed to repair it.

Great news.
