Gannet Group!

This blip commemorates an utterly marvelous day, owed entirely to blipfoto. This morning Cameron, a blipfriend for at least the past couple of years, drove us from Edinburgh out to the coast of the Firth of Forth. There we took a boat for an hour's tour; the high point was Bass Rock, home to a magnificent colony of gannets--the largest in the world. Despite a rocking boat (no pun intended), I managed numerous good shots--and this won the prize. View it up close--and you'll smell the guano :)

We had never met Cameron, but I was certain we'd have an enjoyable day together--and so it turned out. He proposed this excursion and drove us, even though he didn't join us on the boat (done that, he said). He even took us into the grounds of Muirfield (site of the upcoming golf Open--quite a thrill in itself), and we drove past numerous other golf courses in the area. Again, a simply wonderful day--thanks, Cameron.

Edit: Cameron, has now put up a rainy portrait of me with my big lens on returning from Bass Rock.
