Life Savors

Orange-Crowned Warbler

I don't think I have seen one of these before and apparently they are rarely seen because they are usually in the thicket.  I found this guy while on an outing to the Henderson Bird Viewing Reserve.

Originally this was meant to be evaporation pool for the Clark County Waste Water Treatment Plant, but they soon found the birds loved the area and started dropping seeds that took hold and now it is the lovely reserve with 8 large pools surrounded by paths and native plants, filled with a large variety of birds including raptors, waterfowl, migrating birds, hummingbirds, and many songbirds that we don't see in the east.
