Cattle egrets

Cattle egrets are spreading northwards and have been for some years now regular visitors on the north coast. Google says they appear to have also crossed the Atlantic - quite a feat. Here they are popular with cattle farmers because they eat the ticks that want to feed off the cattle. The photo shows more egrets than cattle in the field this morning. The view looks southwards down the valley which extends from Villaviciosa to Valdediós.
