Every Picture Tells .....

Vale of Clwyd

SUNDAY

At 3:30 pm we set off on a 6km walk from the Tremeirchion down to River Clwyd. The lane used to be the main route into the village however in January 2021 the 18th Century stone bridge across the river was swept away during Storm Christoph.

Three years on and it would appear that the Welsh Government and the County Council are dragging their feet with a replacement.

The remains of Llanerch Bridge can be seen in the extra.

The River Clwyd meanders down the valley and maps show that it has changed its course many times over the centuries. The main blip shows an ox bow lake which has formed where a wide meander of a river was cut off, creating a free-standing body of water.
