Exhilaration

Got picked up fairly early and headed, in bright sunshine, to the water sports place on the beach behind the Hilton…a lovely expanse of fine sand but without the impressive waves we have at our hotel. We were quickly prepped with life jackets and instructions then swam out to our jet ski. The most challenging thing all morning was climbing up onto it!
Clinging onto T we roared off with our guide leading the way. The next hour was amazing….sun sparkling off the clear blue water, the same sense of giggly excitement I used to get when riding fast on a horse, the bounces across waves and, incredibly, several shoals (flocks?) of flying fish glistening in the air as they shot away from us…fabulous!
We stopped for a drink at one point, and at another for T to just freestyle and play around (we ended up with him doing speed runs back and forth!) but otherwise travelled a good distance up and down the coast loving the trip. Only downside was the guide didn’t have a camera to take photos of us so had to just do a beach one when we got back to land, but it was glorious.
Back to the hotel and did some reading by the pool and then I did a good acquafit session before lunch which we had with a beer down at the beach grill restaurant. I then did some beachcombing for more coral and other bits, watched some other people jetskiing and read some more on a sunbed on the beach as I like to be near the sound of the waves. Back to the pool for today’s tournament ….we were useless though! Couldn’t get above 61…don’t think we’ll beat our record from yesterday!
We got changed and I packed..planned to go to the Casino after dinner and the 9pm show but ended up feeling so tired we gave the casino a miss and had our last early night. T has certainly caught up on his sleep this last week!
