Open Garden

Ornamental gingers are a feature of the Crew Garden in Uralba on the Alstonville Plateau nearby. The garden was open to the public today. We greatly enjoyed it despite the showery weather. The main photo is a collage of several ginger flowers. The extra is of a seriously weird plant that was also flowering today - Black Bat Flower or Tacca chantrieri. I remember seeing it flowering in the botanic garden in Penang, Malaysia, a few years ago. It comes from that part of the world.
