Chantelle

Chantelle’s was an iconic shop which held a prominent corner position in the centre of Southsea It sold little girls frocks - flouncy petticoats, lots of taffeta and tulle and each dress had a tiny bell stitched into one of its petticoats. Oh la la!! The shop owner retired this summer and since it’s closure the poor shop has deteriorated- no longer proudly shouting Chantelle; no Parisian-style awnings only the metal structures and inside it looks sad and chaotic. No doubt it will be a coffee house or a barber’s before too long!
