Heath Spotted Orchid Spotted on the Heath...

...Well the Dowrog in North Pembrokeshire - an area of grazing common about half a mile from Sara's cottage.

Posh name is Dactylorhiza maculata and it is as common as muck but, my word, how singularly beautiful. Also featured on the Dowrog were marsh orchid and the rarer, but less spectacular, butterfly orchid as well as some budding, but not yet flowering, bog asphodel.
