While on my runs

Pausing briefly

On the way home from work I stopped for a walk at Te Wai Orea with the camera. It turned out to be a good day for birds, beginning with a Piwakawaka (fantail) in the undergrowth. There were at least two others but they didn't stop for more than one or two seconds. The numerous Pukeko were often in both light and shadow. When I was half way around the lake a black swan ran on top of the water until its speed was enough to start flying. Turned the other way to get a photo of a starling in longish grass see extras
