Race for Life

Swathed in bright pink,
With memories on our backs,
We stand together.

We gathered in Eastbourne for the Race for Life to raise funds for fighting cancer. The colour of this campaign is bright pink, so everyone was sporting pink (apart from a gaggle of smurfs ...). This chap was one of a group who had found some pick feathery eyelashes on E-bay and were wearing them despite difficulties in seeing through them! He did flutter them rather beautifully!

As part of the event, people wear a little placard on their backs, where they have written about who they are doing the race for, or in memory of. It's a simple but powerful way of bringing home to you the number of lives lost and families affected by cancer.

Thankfully the sun shone and much money was raised.

I was with fellow belly dance troupe members ... naturally we were wearing pink coin belts, rounded off rather tastefully with pink feather boas! More snaps from the day here

I am behind on comments and haven't replied to the lovely comments about my slug on Saturday - will have a catch up session later today ....
