Making wines since 1416

This is where we went wine tasting this afternoon.
(Actually the last one of three!)

Chateau de Saint Cosme in the village of Gigondas has been in existence since 1416.
The most ancient estate in the region.

The Barruol family who own the vineyard today have been there since 1570, and
Louis Barruol is the 14th generation
One of the wines we bought is called "Little James' Basket Press" and is named after his son who is now 16.

The wines were the best we have tasted so far.

As you can see we bought a few bottles!

Not as many as a Dutch couple, who had a trolley with 8 cases on! He said he was spending his pension. They must get more than us in England!!
